Free Colored Sheet Music

I have been sharing my video on how to make a scale slider. This ruler-like device labels the piano key using color to indicate scale value, making musical patterns on the piano easier to see. It’s one of the key tools I use to teach music.

The colors are DO = Red, RE = Orange, MI = yellow, FA = green, SOL = blue, LA = purple, and TI = pink.

I use colored sheet music to teach piano because it:

• Teaches the music theory behind the song

• Makes the song easy to transpose and play in any key

• Its easier to read than black and white music

• It makes musical patterns more visible

• It invites creativity and improvisation
