For years, I've found myself returning to one idea: a future where every child has meaningful opportunities to sing, play, compose, improvise, listen, and jam. A future where music naturally intersects with every subject children study, and where thoughtfully designed learning environments help young artists flourish.

If the world is about to be flooded with generated content, students need discernment. They need taste. They need a calibrated sensitivity to beauty. They need the ability to recognize what is hollow and shallow, what is real and trustworthy, what is skillful and worthwhile.

The quality of what a person can make with AI depends, in part, on the richness of what they bring to it. The more deeply students participate in music, art, history, natural science, literature, community, and embodied living, the more meaningful their collaborations with AI can become.
